Sherwood RD 8504 7.1 Channel Dual Zone Receiver (Black) Review: Sherwood RD-8504 7.1-Channel Dual-Zone Receiver (Black). I bought this receiver for the upconverting VRS chip from Anchor Bay. This is replacing an 11 year-old Harmon Kardon AVR-75, which only decodes Dolby Digital so I decided it was time to upgrade.This receiver has several different audio decoders/codecs(?) including Pro Logic 11(Movie, Music, and Game), Neo:6, Dolby Digital EX and some others that I've never heard of. I'm running a pair of 8" Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers with matching center and surrounds and a 10" powered sub.I thought the HK sounded great, but I cannot believe how much ...
